2007 Coats for Kids Give a Way

We had a successful 2007 Kids Coat Give Away on October 13!  Hundreds of coats were fitted and given.  Children were beaming with bright smiles.  Parents were grateful.  It was a wonderful morning.  Coats will continue to be given out all winter to those that need them through our Family Services Department.

Also special thanks to Best Buys' volunteers who helped us with registration and fitting the kids with coats on the day of the Give Away.  We had a great time.

     This is a story we felt compelled to share from September 24, 2007.

Phyliss entered the mission office with an arm load of new childrens winter coats. After several more trips the total was twenty-two (11 boys & 11 girls). This special donation to the Muncie Mission Coats for Kids Drive comes from a strong conviction that no child should have to go without a warm winter coat. This conviction comes from her own personal experience. In Phyliss' family, being one of eight children meant that she would not have the opportunity to own her own new winter coat. Now, Phyliss has turned her past life experience into action, seeking out new winter coats and donating them to the Muncie Mission Coats for Kids drive and in doing so has become a shining example of generosity.
