"Thank you so much for letting me come and be a part of what you do.  I think the Muncie Mission is the greatest place."

Thank you, Missy. I think my students learned a lot from the experience. I know that I enjoyed it and learned from it.Your staff were all so welcoming!  My students were impressed by the resources and environment you all have established for those you serve. They also became more aware of the challenges some of the students may face when their parents are addicted to drugs.   I'm grateful there are people like you all at the Mission fighting hard to help those that need it most.

Christmas at the Mission

Wish List Sponsors

We want Christmas at the Muncie Mission to be a special time for the men living here. After all, this isn't a commercial holiday, this is the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

On Christmas Eve, our residents and staff will celebrate Christ's birth with a special party. Each man will receive personal gifts purchased for him by concerned people in the community. The evening ends with a wonderful meal and delicious holiday desserts.

The personal gifts come from those who sign up to be Wish List Sponsors. In November, each resident fills out a "Christmas Wish List" naming three gifts he would like to have for Christmas. Each gift is around $15. Then special individuals, families churches or organizations sponsor one of the residents, making a commitment to buy the gifts on the list. Then they wrap the gifts (not forgetting the ribbons and bows!) and deliver them to the Mission by December 16. If you want to sponsor a Mission resident for Christmas, contact Paula at 288-9122 ext.223 or munciemiss@aol.com.

Gifts for Women and Children

There are many women and children that come to the Mission for family assistance. For these families, it is a struggle to meet life's daily needs of food, clothing and shelter. This Christmas the Mission wants to give these families gifts of daily living.

Some ideas:

  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Laundry and dish soap
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Scented lotions and shower gels

Consider placing these items in a decorative bag to brighten the day for those receiving your gift.

Mission Christmas Meal

The Mission provides a festive Christmas meal with all the trimmings for residents and others in the community. This year the Mission's Christmas meal will be served on Sunday, December 15 at noon. Volunteers are needed. Call Missy at 288-9122, ext 225 or mellis@munciemission.org to volunteer.
