When the first emails started between Mr. Bowman, 9th grade teacher at Liberty Christian School and Missy, Volunteer Coordinator at the Mission, it was hard to think about what 34 - 9th grade students would be able to do in a 'one day mission trip'. We had never had such a large group before. As time went on the plans started to formulate and excitement began to build. Finally the planned day arrived, along with severe weather that we feared might dampen the volunteer spirit. We found there was nothing to fear as the bus arrived and the students poured out into the chapel for a short orientation with Ray and Missy. They then quickly divided into 4 seperate work groups and moved to their assigned areas and the work began. The huge amount of food that was sorted will benefit both the mission kitchen and the Family Service program. Our New Life Center and Attic Window operations have a bright new look after cleaning and sorting crews finished their tasks. It was a pleasure to be the destination for this very special one day mission trip by Lberty Christian School.
