Volunteers Help Make Walk a Mile a Success

Published Monday, February 20, 2012 7:00 am by Muncie Mission

The 8th Annual Walk A Mile in my Shoes was a huge success! However, it is a certain fact that this success would not have been possible without the many hours that volunteers donated. Starting in early January and working steadily until the day of the 'walk'  over 175 volunteers donated more than 300 hours.

Here is a quick sanpshot of what these wonderful volunteers did:
 Bundling & delivering brochures
Blanketing the city with banners & signs
Preparing the Muncie Fieldhouse for the eager walkers
 Registration
 Handing out refreshments
 Distributing t-shirts
 Taking pictures
Crossing guards to keep walkers safe during the brisk walk
Cleaning up after walkers leave fieldhouse
Busing weary/cold walkers back to the Fieldhouse
Un-blanketing the city with banners & signs

No one could have done it all, but together it was a HUGE success!
Aleady looking forward to 2013!
