No one sets out with a goal to be homeless, but the truth is that many of our neighbors are one paycheck or one illness away from losing security. We are first and foremost a shelter providing food, safe housing and the necessities of life to the homeless men of East Central Indiana, and since 1930, the Mission has been diligently meeting those needs.
The heart of the Mission is our faith-based Men’s Program, a refuge for men experiencing the chaos of addictions and/or homelessness. They find temporary shelter as well as the opportunity to experience a year-long, 12-Step program that provides counseling, education, and skill development as they rebuild their lives.
The services we provide to the community include aiding families with emergency funds in addition to giving food, clothing and household items to those in need.
We serve a free lunch Monday through Friday at 12:30.
Recycling provides helpful income to the Mission and expresses our desire to care for the earth.
Our second-hand stores raise funds for the Mission operations, provide low-cost clothing and items to in-need families, and offer employment to local residents.
