Walk a Mile in My Shoes

Walk a Mile in My Shoes has been an annual fundraiser in the Muncie community for over a decade. The purpose of the Walk is to take a step into the struggles facing our homeless and those in desperate situations. This community outreach also works to spread the purpose of the Muncie Mission.

The 14th Annual Walk a Mile will be held on February 10, 2018.

Annual Golf Tournament

2017 tournament date: June 1

Our annual golf tournament  has been serving the Muncie community for 13 years. Proceeds go toward aiding those less fortunate in the East Central Indiana region. Additionally, this outreach also works to educate our community about Muncie Mission’s services.

2017 Tournament Summary

Thank you…if you were a sponsor, a player, donated funds/items or volunteered – you’re involvement helped make this year’s tournament very successful.  A total of $37,373 was raised to help fund the Mission’s many life-changing programs/services and to help stock the food pantries.

Prior to the morning and afternoon flights, Andy, a Mission resident, shared how God had used his time at the Mission to help change and direct his life.   He experienced God’s love first-hand, love that passes all understanding and he continues in that love as he works towards independent living. We praise God for his faithfulness.

Charity Luncheon

On Oct 19th from 11:30-1:00 Texas Roadhouse will be hosting the Mission’s third annual charity luncheon. Your involvement will help the Mission to continue to provide food for Mission’s residents, neighborhood guests and families in need.

The menu includes: pulled pork, chicken, green beans, corn and their famous rolls and butter.  Drinks include sweet and unsweetened tea, lemonade, coffee and water.

Tickets are $15 ea. and are available online, at the door, or by calling 288-9122 ext 226.  Tickets will be held at the door, or you may pick them up at the Mission’s administrative office 8:00-4:30 Mon-Fri.

Meal sponsorship, $100, includes two complimentary tickets.

#GivingTuesday

On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving through #GivingTuesday.

Your donations make a difference – a story.

A woman came in this week after not visiting the food pantry for at least 2 years. She explained that her husband’s work situation had changed this month and they found themselves short of needed funds. She knew they could come to the Muncie Mission for food. This would help them to stretch their remaining food dollars and make dealing with the whole situation a little easier.

This year, the Muncie Mission has partnered with Meijer so that your #Giving Tuesday donation will be double matched through their Simply Give campaign to help Pack the Mission Pantry.
